Tue, January 20, 2004 - 7:47 PMCool site! (I like the Sol on your opening page) I'm all for the preservation of our computer heritage. So many people these days seem the think computers were born in 1981... -

Re: So can computer history be discussed on the Tribe?
Fri, February 20, 2004 - 9:07 PMGreat collection. A few suggestions (doubtlessly reflecting my personal biases):
I would love some references to really old (proto)computers like Pascal's, Leibniz 's and Babbage's machines? Enigma?
How about a high altitude review of the genesis of modern computers?
I realize this may be out of the scope of your site.
Cheers. -

Re: So can computer history be discussed on the Tribe?
Mon, March 8, 2004 - 11:55 PMThanks John,
Yes it would be a bit out of our scope, the oldest artifact we have is a felt and tarrant comptometer (1920s). There are many great timelines of the earlier machines though. It is a truly fascinating subject!
